About Our Pastor
The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Wheeler has served in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 50 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bethany College in West Virginia, where he and his wife also served as curators of the Alexander Campbell Mansion. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology in Atlanta as a member of the inaugural class of Woodruff Scholars and later earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
Dr. Wheeler has served Disciple congregations of varying sizes in West Virginia, Georgia, and Ohio. A fifth generation Buckeye Disciple, he has also held numerous volunteer roles within the Ohio Regional Church.
Dr. Wheeler and his wife, Barbara, a retired schoolteacher, grew up in East Liverpool, Ohio, and were married in 1976. They have three adult children and five grandchildren. Since retiring from full-time ministry five years ago, they have made their home in Mentor, Ohio, near their daughter and her family.
